Okay guys, nobody got Lian's right age. Although a lot of people came close. She's just 12, not even a teenager. It's just weird that I could be mistaken as someone younger than her when in truth I'm 11 years older. I'm a young adult and people still mistake me for a highschooler. No wonder nobody takes me seriously. When mom introduced me over the summer, the usual conversation was...

Random person: Hello!
Mom: Hi! This is my daughter, Bem. (that's what my family calls me. Don't ask. =w
Random Person: Oh is she your youngest?
Mom: Oh no! She's our eldest. She has two younger brothers.
Random Person: I didn't know your children are still young. I thought they'd be a little bit older.
Me: *looks really uncomfortable* Uhm.. excuse me.. I'm already 23.
Random Person: Oh my god! I'm sorry. I thought you're still in highschool!

That's seriously not funny when you find out a bit later that you're actually older than said person. =w= A lot of the staff in Shangri-La were about my age if not younger. So yeah, it was a little bit frustrating that people treated me like a kid when I was actually older than them. Also there were a lot of cute boys but guess what? They all thought I'm underage. =w=
